Experiential tourism is one of the new typologies that is being implemented in the tourism market, constituting an important part of economic development mainly in rural areas. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between experiential tourism and economic development in the inhabitants of the Ramadilla annex of the Lunahuaná district in 2020, through a quantitative approach research, non-experimental design, correlational level. The data collection technique was the survey, the instrument used being the experiential tourism and economic development questionnaire (Torres, 2020). The sample was made up of 850 residents in ages ranging from 16 to 60 years old; the sampling was non-probabilistic. The results show that there is a significant relationship between experiential tourism and economic development, obtaining a significance of 0.000 <0.05 using the Spearman test and a correlation coefficient equal to 0.676. It is concluded that if the level of experiential tourism strengthens, the economic development of the inhabitants increases. © 2022 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
