In the organizational sphere, decision-making is a complex process that is usually associated with different problems, for example, complete and adequate management of information; conflicts of interest between parts of the organization; inadequate communication; the scarce participation of key actors or stakeholders in the process; rigidity and lack of flexibility, among other elements. The objective of this work is to determine the relationship between decision-making and performance in Peruvian universities. A quantitative study was carried out applying a questionnaire to 204 members of the university, adopting a non-experimental and cross-sectional approach, and descriptive and evaluative analysis techniques were applied. inferential, such as mean, standard deviation, Student’s t-test, and Pearson’s correlation. The results show that there is a significant relationship between both variables. The main factors that affect organizational performance are the participation of teachers and students in decision-making, effective communication, the organizational climate and the work environment. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
