Resumen
Digital culture is a construct with a gravitating omnipresence in today’s society. Its course is characterized by a constant growth and transformation generated by technology and the Internet. An evolution that does not go unnoticed in university research. In this perspective, the dynamics of change experienced by digital culture in Peru are analyzed from the review of university theses. The methodology applied followed the documentary analysis, specifically, the Scoping Review of university theses deposited in the RENATI database. The results of the study show an increase in research productivity, especially in undergraduate theses, in privately managed universities located in the capital city and during the last biennium (2021-2022). The areas of knowledge most addressed were Education and Administration, with 31% in both cases; followed by Communication, with 28%, and Humanities, as an emerging field with 7%. The prominence of the area related to Information Systems, which represents only 3%, is surprising. Among the conclusions, a significant set of potentials and challenges raised by research on digital culture stand out, which should be considered in future studies, as well as for the design and implementation of public policies. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
