The current educational situation requires that teachers make use of innovative methodologies that allow students to develop fundamental learning to function with suitability. For this reason, the objective of the article is to analyze the role that teachers, students and families must assume to face the challenges of digital education in Latin America. The research follows a qualitative approach, naturalistic paradigm, phenomenological and hermeneutic design. The technique to collect data was five in-depth interviews with doctors in educational sciences in Peru, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Spain, and the Sultanate of Oman. The main results highlight that teachers must effectively manage technological and pedagogical skills that develop the critical and reflective thinking of the student, in addition to creating communication bridges with families, which demands that teachers and students improve their digital skills, transforming the meaning of learning It is concluded that, at present, there is no specific methodology for digital education. However, it is relevant that teachers are innovative when using methods and strategies that promote learning today. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
