Resumen
The objective of the study is to determine the degree of correlation between socio-professional factors and the use of information and communication technologies (ICT). Data on both variables were collected from university professors at a private university in Metropolitan Lima, using two questionnaires that were validated by expert judgment and their reliability was determined with Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The results of the hypothesis tests with Spearman’s rho coefficient reveal that in the teachers surveyed there is a significant positive correlation between the aforementioned variables and also between socio-professional factors and each dimension of the use of technologies, considering the significance level of 0, 01. Likewise, it was found that approximately half of the respondents are located at a medium or regular level of use of technologies in their didactic work and more than two thirds stand out in the pedagogical and attitudinal dimensions of this variable, while it is observed that men are twice as many as women and that teaching is carried out mainly by professors who are over 50 years of age, who have more than 20 years of experience and, therefore, have progressively adapted to the use of emerging technologies and developed their skills digital tools to teach students from a generation of digital natives. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
